How Valorant Betting Works

Valorant matches in VCT are typically played in Best-of-3 format, with finals at Best-of-5. Each map is played to 13 rounds, with overtime at 13-all decided by alternating attack/defence rounds until a team leads by two. Each game lasts roughly 45–75 minutes. Understanding agent compositions — whether a team favours aggressive entry fragging or structured utility play — is key to reading match dynamics.

Key Betting Markets

Match Winner — the team that wins the series. Map Winner — outcome of individual maps in the series. Total Maps — whether the series goes 2 or 3 maps (Bo3). Round Handicap — a spread applied to the round total on a specific map (e.g., Team A -4.5 rounds). Total Rounds — combined round count for a map, split by Under/Over. Pistol Round Winner — who wins rounds 1 and 13, which often set the momentum for each half. First Blood — who records the first kill.

Major VCT Tournaments

The Valorant Champions Tour is divided into three international leagues: VCT Americas, VCT EMEA, and VCT Pacific. Each league runs its own season, with teams competing for slots at VCT Masters (held twice per year, mid-season and in the summer) and Valorant Champions — the annual world championship with the largest prize pool on the circuit. The Ascension league below serves as a promotion pathway for challenger-level teams.

Strategy Tips

Map selection is critical — each team vetoes maps before the series, and knowing a team's strongest and weakest maps is often the most reliable pre-match edge. Track agent pick rates per map: some agents are near-mandatory on certain maps (e.g., Jett on Haven, Cypher on Breeze) and a team's depth in those agents indicates preparation. Round handicap and total rounds markets can offer better value than straight map winner, especially for mismatched series where one team is heavily favoured.
